Features:

• Loose or dense rhizomatous tussock, new tufts forming at a distance from parent
• Erect, ovate to lanceolate panicle of purplish spikelets; September – January
• Bird and butterfly attracting
• Needs little attention other than a trim once a year or less frequently

Requirements:

• Full sun to semi-shade
• Moist soil

• Leaves used for string and basket-making
